WILLIAM C. "JACK" FIELDS

William C. "Jack" Fields, 83 of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late William Bascom and Rachel Ellen Simpson Fields. He was a graduate of Graham High School and loved to referee football games on all school levels. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and a founding charter member of the Bluefield Virginia Rescue Squad. Jack loved gardening and wood working. Most recently, Jack enjoyed his time working at the Bland Ministry Center. In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by his grandson: Adam Fields.

He will be lovingly and affectionately missed by his wife of 59 years: Ellen Graham Fields; his children: Jack Michael Fields (Shelia) of Rocky Mount, VA, Michelle Hawley (David) of Falls Mills, VA and Melinda Litton (Tommy) of Bland, VA; sisters: Linda Douthat (Buzzy) of Bluefield, VA and Audrey Dolin (Mike) of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren: Carrie Hawley, Rebecca Cline (Caleb), Marshall Hawley (Brittany Cox), Stephen Fields (Christina) and Luke Litton; 3 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev Jim Drake officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Friends may visit with the family Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Dudley Memorial from 5-7 P.M.
