WILLIAM "BILLY" GORDON DANIEL, SR
William "Billy" Gordon Daniel, Sr, of Roanoke, VA and formerly of Fincastle Estates, Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Born January 5, 1937 in Huntingdon, TN, he was the son of the late Walter Whitfield and Minnie Sue Hill Daniel. He graduated from Earle High School, Earle, AK in 1955, University of Central Arkansas in 1959, Vanderbilt University in 1962 and Medical College of VA in 1977. He was a retired teacher at Bluefield College, Pastor of Glen Lyn Baptist Church for 26 years and a pharmacist for the past 25 years. He was a faithful Sunday School teacher and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph H Daniel, Walter W Daniel, Jr and Edward T Daniel.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Jean L Daniel of Roanoke, VA; one son: William Gordon Daniel, Jr and wife, Glenda of Roanoke, VA; two daughters: Denise Daniel Sease and husband, Todd of Chatham, VA and Jill Daniel Matney and husband, Jim of Moultrie, GA; 9 grandchildren: Jennifer, Chris and Brian Daniel, Walter, Anne Langston and Jack Sease, William, Sarah and Henry Lewis Matney.
A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Daniel's life will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Grandview Memory Gardens with Rev Ed Fisher officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the Daniel family Sunday April 26, 2015 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary from 6-8 p.m.
