WILLIAM MCKNIGHT CATHEY, JR

William McKnight Cathey, Jr "Mac", 60 of Bluefield, VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 03, 2023. He was born in Charlotte, NC and was the son of Betty Jean Wilson and the late William McKnight Cathey, Sr.  Mac was never afraid to speak his mind and he did not compromise his beliefs.  Mac was also known for his hard work ethic and caring spirit.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Ann Cathey.  He will be remembered fondly for his love of family, a few cherished friends, and pumpkin pie.

In addition to his mother, Betty Jean Wilson, Mac leaves behind his children: Amy Elizabeth Roberts, Michael Phillip Cathey and James Andrew Cathey; his grandchildren: Emmett Roberts and Brindee Roberts, Levi Cathey, Kezia Cathey, Lucas and Andrew Cathey; his beloved dog: Maggie.

There will be no public service, however, friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, VA from 5:00 P.M. til 6:00 P.M.  Mac's cremains will buried at a later date in a family cemetery in North Carolina.
