WESLEY LEWIS GARRIS
Wesley Lewis Garris, 67 of Bluefield, VA passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born in Glen White, WV, he was the son of Myrtle Farmer Garris Carver of Montcalm, WV and the late James Garris. Mr. Garris attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church for over 30 years. He was a member of the NRA, the VFW Post #9696 and the VVA. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Carver.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother: Dorothy Carver of Montcalm, WV; his wife of 45 years, Jacqueline Durham Garris; daughters: Elizabeth Alice Garris of Bluefield, VA and Gwendolyn Louise Siebenhaar and husband, Emanual of Bluefield, VA; brothers: James Garris and wife, Karen of Bluewell, WV, Johnny Garris of During, WV and Jackie Carver and wife, Madonna of Bluefield, WV; sisters: Joyce Jones and husband, Sam of During, WV and Samantha Penland and husband, Danny of Bluewell, WV; grandchildren: Brianna Cyrus and husband, Philip, Savannah Siebenhaar, Megan Siebenhaar, Austin Siebenhaar and wife, Destiny, Ian Siebenhaar and Sara Siebenhaar; great-grandchildren: Ara and Olivia Cyrus.
A service to celebrate Mr. Garris' life will be Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev Steve Aker officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Military Grave Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post #14. Pallbearers will be Austin Siebenhaar, Ian Siebenhaar, Emanual Siebenhaar, Jack Durham, Philip Cyrus and Newton Durham.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 p.m.
