TERRY ALLEN JOHNS
Terry Allen Johns, 67, Springville, VA, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Born in Evansville, Indiana, he was the son of the late William Elmer and Mary Margaret Kurzendoerfer Johns. Terry graduated from North High School, Evansville, Indiana. He had worked for the Canton Police Department for 17 years. He also was a Fiber Optic Engineer for OSP Consultants and most recently was a Salesman for Ramey Cheverlot. Terry served his country in the United States Air Force. He attended Riverside Community Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother: Betty Johns Canary; step-son: Grover "Cleve" Stuckey IV; brother: Russel Johns; sisters: Patricia Cross and Deborah Loven.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 24 years: Shelia Fuller Johns; sisters: Beverly Hall and Becky Carnahan, both of Evansville, IN; sisters-in-law: Eugenia Stump and companion, Roger Proffitt of Bluefield, VA and Barbara "Sis" Johns of Wytheville, VA; his fur-baby; Buddy, whom he adored; many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Terry's life will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev Robert Buckles officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory
Gardens, where military grave side rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post #14. Pallbearers will be Gary Hall, Roger Profitt, Leon Stiltner, Danny Fuller, Rex Tester, Danny Angles, Billy Earls , Frankie Bailey ,Johnny Waddle and Kyle Puckett.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Mortuary.
