Sue "Sturgill" Owens, 92, of Bluefield VA passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 4 at Westwood Center following a long illness.

Born in Southwest Virginia to Harold D. and Edith P. Sturgill she resided in Bluefield VA most of her life.  She was very dedicated to her family, friends, community and her works at the First United Methodist Church of Bluefield VA.

She is the widow of the late Clifford Layne Owens.

Surviving her are:

One brother and his wife, Johnny and Linda Sturgill of Smith Mountain Lake VA
One daughter, Trish Owens of Atlanta GA
Two sons and their wives, Mike and Eileen Owens of Orlando FL; Mark and Cynthia Owens of Bluefield VA
Three grandchildren, Kevin Salvilla of Hickman TN, Stephanie Salvilla of Orlando FL, Melanie Coleman of Norton VA.

Eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter

She was preceded in death by four sisters : Judy Childress, Doris Beverly, Shirley Wyatt and Peggy Yates and two brothers: Harold Jr. "Jack" Sturgill and Staff Sgt. Buford "Pete" Sturgill.

Funeral arrangements by Dudley Memorial Mortuary, Bluefield VA.

Visitation will begin at 2:00PM on Wednesday July 12. Rev. Don Scott and Rev. Billy Kurtz will officiate a memorial service following visitation in the Dudley chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First United Methodist Church of Bluefield VA, the Bluefield Union Mission of Bluefield WV  or the Alzheimer's Association.
