STUART RANDALL "RANDY" AKERS

Stuart Randall "Randy" Akers, 65 of Bluefield, VA, passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 26, 2022 at the home of his sister, where he had made his home for the last 3 ½ years.  Randy was the son of the late Bertha Lee Akers.  He had lived in Charlotte, NC for many years and worked as a painter and returned to the Bluefield, VA area around 2008.  He was a very simple man who loved his family.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother: Anna Mae Sturdivant; brother: Rick Akers; uncles: Henry and Albert Sturdivant; brother-in-law: Jerry Mabe.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister: Joann Mabe; his son: Shannon Akers and wife, Jessi; granddaughters: Carmella and Shyann Akers; cousins: Barbara Proffitt and Al Sturdivant; sister-in-law: Susan Akers; nieces: Tammy Akers and Crystall Sadler; special friends: Jimmy Scarberry, Tommy Bane and Susan Jarrell; an extended family and numerous friends.

In keeping with Randy's wishes, his body has been cremated and there will be no public service.
