SHERMAN JOHN SHRADER

Sherman John Shrader, 72 of Bluefield, WV, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at WVU Princeton Community Hospital following an extended illness.  Born in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late John Bird and Opal Faye Holsclaw Shrader.  Sherman appreciated the simple things of life, such as hard work and mowing his lawn.  He had served his country in the United States National Guard.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Jerry Alan Shrader, Sr; stepson: William Michael Sampson and his son, John Michael Sampson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of more than 17 years: Tammi Barnett Shrader of Bluefield, WV; his daughter: Jessica Marie Dick of Bluefield, WV; his brother: Samuel Harry Shrader and wife, Sally of Falls Mills, VA; stepchildren that he raised and thought of as his own: Allan Sampson and his wife, Rebecca "Becky" of Martinsville, VA and Kimberly Christian of Falls Mills, VA; numerous grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; god-son: Isaiah Christian Shrader.

A service to celebrate Sherman's life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Harry Cundiff and Pastor Dean Kennedy officiating.  Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, weather permitting.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
