SANDRA KAY GRIFFITH

Sandra Kay Griffith, 74, of 101 View Court, Bluefield, VA, took the hand of Jesus Christ and walked into Heaven on Saturday, September 06, 2025, at her home with her family by her side, holding her hands as she had wished.  She was born in the town of Pocahontas, VA on October 2, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Virginia H. O'Neal of Pocahontas, VA.

In addition to her parents, Sandee was preceded in death by her daughter: Madison Muir of Lindenhurst, NY; brothers: Bill O'Neal of Morgantown, WV, Raymond O'Neal of Morgantown, WV, Roger O'Neal of Pulaski, VA; sister: Judee O'Neal of Grand Junction, CO; a special grandson: Joshua Michael Bailey of Bluefield, VA.

Sandee was employed in the retail and restaurant workplaces much of her working years and spent many years as a volunteer EMT with the Bluefield Virginia Rescue Squad.

Those left to cherish her memories and will miss her immensely are her husband: Dennis Griffith of the home; special fur baby: Rugar, whom she adored and loved unconditionally; daughters: Carmen Bailey and husband, Mike Bailey of Bluefield, VA, Kim Duesing of Bluefield, VA; step-daughter: Shannon Perkins of N. Tazewell, VA; her only remaining sibling, brother Robert 'Bob' O'Neal and wife Freda of Dublin, VA, special friend connected by the heart: Anita Bloomfield of Massapequa, NY.

Her grandchildren include: Tiffany Nigro and husband, Michael of Papillion, NE, Alise Bailey and Austin Faulkner of Bluefield, VA, Tim Duesing and Tiffany Martin of Bluefield, VA, Justin Duesing and Hunter Brewster of Bluefield, VA, Inara Muir of Lindenhurst, NY and Caleb Perkins of N. Tazewell, VA.

Her precious great-grandchildren are: Elenda and Holden Nigro of Papillion, NE, Isabella Faulkner, Landon Faulkner and Kayleigh Faulkner of Bluefield, VA, Cameron Gray and Josiah Johnson of Bluefield, VA, all of whom she loved so very much.

She leaves behind 2 other pets in the home, Jamie and Troy, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as extended families.

Special heartfelt thank you from our family to the Town of Tazewell Ambulance service, who took exceptional care and concern for her on her many transports back and forth weekly for almost a year, and who escorted her on her final ride home from the hospital near the end. Many medical staff, and you all know who you are, at Bluefield Family Medicine, Bluefield ER and PCH hospital, your care, concern and compassion for her are forever appreciated and will always be remembered for the impact you had in her life, even if for a short time.  Many thanks for the care and compassion given to her by the staff at Legacy Hospice and Palliative Care in Richlands, VA, enabling us to keep her comfortable in her own bed, in her own home, as she waited for Jesus to come and take her by the hand and walk with her through the Gates of Heaven.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:30 A.M.-12:30P.M. at Grandview Memory Mausoleum Chapel on Bluefield Tazewell Road, Bluefield, VA.   A brief service to honor Sandee will follow in the Mausoleum at 12:30 P.M. Following the service she will be entombed in the Grandview Mausoleum.

Honorary pallbearers are Robert O'Neal, Mike Bailey, Tim Duesing, Justin Duesing, Hunter Brewster and Austin Faulkner.
