SAMUEL ALEXANDER MOORE

Samuel Alexander Moore, 84 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022.  Born in Marytown, WV, he was a lifelong resident of Bluefield, VA and was the son of the late Thomas T. and Ella Mae Ruble Moore.  Sam was a 1957 graduate of Graham High School and had served on the Bluefield Virginia Fire Department for over 25 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Sam was fiercely devoted to his family and just enjoyed being at home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Eugene Moore, Jack Moore, James Moore and Juanita Sheppard.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years: Linda Faye Shrader Moore; his children: Samuel Alexander Moore II and his significant other, Lauren Johnson of Delaware, OH and Monica Bailey-Yates and husband, Lonnie of Dublin, VA; sisters: Janet Yost and husband, Arnold of Bluefield, VA and Joann Tolbert of Live Oak, FL; his grandchildren: Zach Quesenberry and Zane Quesenberry and wife, Nancy; numerous nieces, nephews,  great-nieces,  great-nephews and a host of wonderful friends and neighbors.

A service to celebrate Sam's life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Bassett officiating.  Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
