RUTH LESTER LEE

Ruth Lester Lee, 93 of Bluefield, VA, went to be with her family Saturday, April 06, 2019 in Bristol, TN. She was born in Cove section of Tazewell County, VA and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Lester and Sarah Chapman Lester. She was a graduate of Tazewell High School and attended Bluefield College, obtaining a Teaching degree. She taught in the Little River Community of Tazewell County, VA, several years, in a one room schoolhouse. Later in her career, she attended and graduated from Bluefield Sanitarium Nursing Program, earning a L.P.N. degree. She was a former member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Tazewell, VA and the Graham Christian Church, Bluefield, VA. She was also a member of the Bluefield WV Women's Club, the National Rifle Association and an honorary member of the VFW Post 9696. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Sandra Yost Gravely; brothers: Ben, Herbert, Harry and Jack Lester; sisters: Pauline Lester, Elizabeth Ascue and Virginia Brown.

She is survived by her son: Fred (Randy) Yost, Jr. of Bluefield, VA.

A private memorial graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA at a later date.
