ROSA GILPIN BROWN
Rosa Gilpin Brown, 65, of Princeton, WV, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at her home. She was born in Bluefield, WV and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruby Gillespie Gilpin. Rosa attended the Lillygrove Baptist Church and the Assembly of God Church. She was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Rosa never met a stranger and she had a big heart and was a kind soul. She enjoyed crafting and interior decorating and loved to sing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Kathy Marie Gilpin; her twin brother, Tommy Gilpin; and her sister, Diane Brown.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Wayne Brown of Princeton; her son, Rodney Wayne Brown of Lynchburg, VA; her siblings, Darlene Eary of Salem, VA, Betty Akers and husband Ronnie of Fredericksburg, VA, Larry Gilpin of Bluefield, WV, Teddy Gilpin of Bluefield, WV, Joyce Hale and husband Jerry of Bluefield, VA, Jane Painter and husband Jimmy of Bluefield, WV, Judy Cole and husband Doug of Virginia Beach, VA, Jimmy Gilpin and wife Kathy of Bluefield, WV and Jeff Gilpin and wife Reba of Nashville, TN; granddaughter, Candice Alexis Brown of Lynchburg, VA; very special neighbor, Vera Vest and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Rosa's life will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
