ROBERT (STAN) STANLEY THOMPSON
Robert (Stan) Stanley Thompson, 67, of Bessemer City, NC, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016. Stan was born on April 5, 1949 in Bluefield, VA, and was the son of the late Robert Sydney Thompson and Elizabeth Farris Thompson. Stan worked as a carpenter and welder most of his life. His grandmother, mother and a special aunt, Madelyn Riley, were of special importance to Stan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Skeens.
Left to cherish his memory are his son: Israel Thompson and wife, Pam of New Jersey; his fiancé: Leann Cooper of N.C.; brothers: Danny Thompson and wife, Deana of N. Tazewell, VA and Kenny Thompson of Bluefield, VA; a brother-in-law: Walter Skeens of Bluefield, VA; half-sister: Dorothy Gillespie of Bluefield, WV.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary from 6-7 p.m. A memorial service will be held following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Stan's family and friends officiating.
