ROBERT EDISON SNELL
Robert Edison Snell, 76 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Tip Top, VA, he was the son of the late James and Ella Kate Ritter Snell. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and being in nature. He was a member of the UMWA and a past member of the Moose Lodge, Bluefield, WV. Robert loved his family and enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry and Wayne Snell and two infant brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 almost years, Shirley Harman Snell; children: Diane Smith and husband, Alan of Pearisburg, VA, Dale Snell of Bluefield, VA and Crystal Perdue and husband, Mike of Bluefield, VA; brothers: Raymond Snell and wife, Barbara of Bristol, VA, Gerald Snell and wife, Margaret of Tucson, Arizona, Darrell Snell and wife, Linda of Tip Top, VA; sisters: Norma Jean Johnson and husband, Bill of Edenton, NC and Phyllis Nichols of Hillsville, VA; Sister in-Law Jody Snell of Roanoke, Va. grandchildren: Jessica Brown and husband, Daniel of Peterstown, WV, Miranda Smith and husband, Todd of Blacksburg, VA and Shane Perdue and fiancé, Cheyenne Ratliff of Dublin, VA; great-grandchildren: Lilli Brown and Hailey Smith; several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Snell will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev Steve Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Dudley Memorial from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
