Robert "Bobby" Slade, 82, of Bluefield, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Bobby was born on November 13, 1943, in Bishop, Virginia, to Ralph and Pansy Slade. He was a graduate of Northfork High School. Bobby spent more than 50 years in coal truck sales, working for Cole Motor Company, Tinder White, Worldwide Equipment, and Heritage Equipment. While traveling the coal fields of southern West Virginia, he amassed a wealth of friends and acquaintances whom he cherished throughout his life.

Bobby was known for his sense of humor, quiet generosity, devotion to his family and friends, and his deep love of Jesus. He was a dedicated member of Worship Hymn church in Cedar Bluff, VA. Bobby especially loved his wife, Linda, his bride of 62 years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Slade; his children, Michael Slade and husband Miguel Altagracia, and David Slade and wife Teresa; two grandchildren, Robert Slade and wife Samantha, and Jacob Slade and fiancée Brittany Jesson; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Horton and Connie Fortuna. Bobby also had numerous nieces and nephews and shared a special bond with his nephew, Rodney Hedrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ricky Slade; his sister, Nancy Takach; and his brother, William Slade.

A memorial service will be held on January 14, 2026, at Dudley Memorial Mortuary; visitation at noon followed by service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Doug Allen and Jimmy Dickens will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Legacy Hospice in Bobby's memory. Donations may be sent to Legacy Hospice, Inc., 1963 Second Street, Richlands, VA 24641.

Bobby will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
