ROBERT EDWARD "BOBBY" KIRK
Robert Edward "Bobby" Kirk, 83 of Roanoke, VA, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Roanoke, VA. Born December 14, 1932, in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late Marvin D. and Mary Virginia Archer Kirk. Bobby was a graduate of Graham High School and West VA Business College. He retired in 1987 after 37 years with Norfolk Southern Corporation, where he held various jobs. His early years were spent working at M.D. Kirk General Store in Lerona, WV, with his Dad and brothers and Kirk Christmas Tree Farm (the mountain) in West Graham of Bluefield, VA. He attended VA Avenue United Methodist Church. Bobby will be remembered for the way he cared for his Mom and Dad; the love of gardening, raising his dogs and the way he gave back to his community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Lee Kirk and James Harold Kirk.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years: Janice L Kirk; his children and their spouses: Robert M. and Linda Kirk of Roanoke, VA, Susie and Keith Janutolo of Falls Mills, VA, Terry D. and Audrey Kirk of Bluefield, VA; his 5 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly: Stacy Kirk, Tyler, Dexter and Tabitha Kirk, April Janutolo and fiancé, Ryan Flowers and Ryan's son, Michael; brother: M.D. Kirk, Jr of Lerona, WV; special sister-in-law: Billie Johnston of Williamsburg, VA; his extended family: Sharon and Andrea, that showered him with love and good care.
A service to celebrate Bobby's life will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev Larry Ramey officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. His body will be cremated following the services.
