RICHARD RUSSELL MCKINNEY

Richard Russell McKinney, 89 of Bluefield, WV and formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 09, 2019 after being at Loving Hands Adult Care, Bluefield, WV, since September 24, 2019. He was formerly at The Haven's of Princeton since October 18, 2018. Richard was born January 18, 1930 in Herndon, WV to the late Thomas and Etta Graham McKinney. Richard last attended Pisgah United Methodist Church in Princeton, WV. He loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to gospel singing. He supported several charities. He retired from Appalachian Power Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Marie McKinney; step-son: George B. Hurt; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include 2 step-daughters: Nancye L. Dellinger of Christiansburg, VA and Janey "Sue" Furches (Gary) of Princeton, WV; step-son: Houston L. Hurt, Jr of West Liberty, KY; many thanks to his longtime friends and neighbor, Phyllis Atkins and son, Brian.

A private family service was held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Grandview Memory Mausoleum Chapel. Rev. Corbert May of Pisgah United Methodist Church officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Foundation.

Dudley Memorial served the McKinney family.
