R.W. "BUD" JOHNSON
R.W. "Bud" Johnson of Mooresville, NC and formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 after 93 years of love, service and dedication to his many family and friends. Born in Richlands, VA, September 20, 1922, he was the son of the late Augustus and Sallie Nipper Johnson. Bud served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in the 15th AF 780th Bomb Squadron 465th Bombardment Group, completing 50 missions and being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, July 22, 1944. Bud was employed by Automotive Supply Co of Bluefield, WV and owner of Automotive Supply of Tazewell, VA for many years. He is a past president of the Bluefield, WV Lions Club and a long time member at Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Trivett Johnson and his siblings, Harvey Johnson, Ethel VanDyke, Virginia Henkle and Emily Tatum.
He will be lovingly and affectionately remembered by his son, Brent Johnson and wife, Laura of Mooresville, NC and grandchildren, Eric and Kelly Johnson of Mooresville, NC.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Friday, October 30, 2015 at Grandview Memory Mausoleum Chapel from 1:00-1:30 p.m. Services to celebrate Bud's life will follow in the Mausoleum Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Samuel Stout officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Dudley Memorial is serving the Johnson family.
