Randall (Randy) Keith Tabor, Sr, 75, of North Tazewell, VA passed into his eternal home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 after a lengthy illness with cancer. Born at the Bluefield Sanitarium, in Bluefield, WV on July 23, 1945, he was the son of the late George E. and Annie Marie Harris Tabor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Anthony W. Tabor, Raymond W. Tabor, and Donald E. Tabor, an infant brother, James R. Tabor and sister, Margaret M. Berbert.
Randy was a 1964 Graham High School Graduate in Bluefield, VA and attended Bluefield State College in Bluefield, WV where he earned an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was the co-owner of J & R Electric, Inc from 1978 to 1999 in North Tazewell, VA, where he retired at the age of 55. Randy proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve from 1969 to 1970. While enlisted, he was stationed in Germany. In speaking with Randy about his military career, he would put a smile on his friends and families faces by saying, "Click your heels and stand at attention, ten-hut, march." Randy's son, Keith, says his friends still remind him of Randy's humorous non-sense remarks. They recall these remarks from their childhood even today.
There was never a dull moment with Randy's overzealous personality. His wisdom and sense of humor would light up any room and definitely leave a lasting impression on your heart for years to come. Randy was always willing to share his time and knowledge to help others. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving son, Randall "Keith" Tabor, Jr and wife Cindy of North Tazewell, VA. His special granddaughter, Brianna Paige Tabor and fiancé, Christopher Hensley of Greenville, TN and caring grandson and granddaughter, Crandall "Kamron" Lee Walls and Bethany Lois Ann Walls of North Tazewell, VA. His significant other, Vivian Leigh Dillow, of North Tazewell, VA and ex-wife Vivian Jean Tabor of Statesville, NC will carry his memory in their hearts forever. Randy's siblings include Jerry Tabor and wife Janet of Bluefield, VA, Judy Bryant of South Hill, VA, Connie Owen of Roanoke, VA, and Brenda Perkins and husband Ray of Bluefield, VA. Many nieces, nephews, and friends will hold a special place in their hearts for Randy. He also loved his cat, "Cocky" and all his wild life pets surrounding his home.
In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated and a memorial service to celebrate Randy's life will be held Saturday January 16th at 2:00 PM at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harry Cundiff and The Mercer County Honor Guard officiating ,family and friends may visit from 1:00 PM till hour of service. Do to Covid 19 mask and social distancing are required for the health and safety of everyone.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to consider making donations in Randy's memory to Graham High School's Football and Basketball programs at 210 Valley Dale St, Bluefield, VA 24605.
The family is grateful and thankful for the staff at Dr. Schor's office of Bluefield, WV and MSA Home Health Care & Hospice of Richlands, VA for their medical care and concern for Dad.
