RALPH WHITE MITCHELL JR
Ralph White Mitchell Jr, 77 of Bluefield, VA went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 31, 2015. Born in Cedar Bluff, VA, he was the son of the late Ralph White Mitchell Sr and Jessie McKay Philpott Mitchell. Ralph graduated from Graham High School and attended Emory and Henry College. He worked for SCJ Company for 38 years. He had served his country in the Unites States Air Force for 4 years. He had been a member of the Harman Lodge #222 since 1988. Ralph was a lifetime member of Graham Christian Church, where he had served as an elder. He enjoyed attending church and was faithful attending its services and activities. A pastime hobby of his was playing golf.
He will be lovingly and affectionately remembered by his wife of 43 years, Ellen Jeanette (Jean) Cecil Mitchell; his son: Pete Mitchell of Roanoke, VA; his daughter: Dreama Shiflett and husband, Bob of Bluefield, WV; his sister: Kay Reedy and husband, Jim of Little Rock, Arkansas.
A service to celebrate Ralph's life will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Graham Christian Church with Rev Gary Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery with his son-in-law and nephews serving as pallbearers.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Tuesday June 2, 2015 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. where masonic rites will be conducted by the Harman Masonic Lodge #222 at 7:30 p.m.
