RACHEL LOUISE GREEN MELVIN

Rachel Louise Green Melvin of Bailey Switch Road, North Tazewell, VA, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018. Born in Nemours, WV, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas and Elizabeth Riley Green. She was of the Methodist faith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James David Melvin, Sr; daughter: Melinda Elizabeth Melvin.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: James David Melvin, Jr (Debbie) of Kansas, MO, Tommy Melvin (Debbie) of Bluefield, VA, Walter Melvin of Tazewell, VA, Onnie Thompson (Scott) of North Tazewell, VA, Karen Melvin of North Tazewell, VA; daughter in law: Theresa Melvin Amos of Troutville, VA; brother: James P. Green of Florida; sister in law: Shirley Green of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Rachel's life will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 P.M.
