POLLY ELIZABETH MAHOOD

Polly Elizabeth Mahood, 98 of Bluefield, VA, died peacefully Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Westwood Healthcare. Elizabeth was born November 9, 1919, the fifth child of Clarence H. and Anna Belle Porter Mahood in Bluefield, VA.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Isabelle Douthit, Ruth Bond, Shirley Hudzinski, and brothers: Joe Mahood, Bill Mahood, Clarence H. Mahood, Jr (Luke) and Jim Mahood.  She is survived by her sister: Mrs. Earl C. Gibson (Nancy) of Radford, VA, as well as many nieces and nephews who enjoyed her humor and spirit and a special life-long friend: Ruth Beavers.

Elizabeth lived her entire life in Bluefield, VA and was a 1940 graduate of Graham High School. She was a homemaker and served as a caregiver to those in need.  Elizabeth's family would like to thank the many nurses, therapists, support staff and doctors for the compassionate and excellent care given her while at Westwood Healthcare.

A graveside service to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Maple Hill by 12:50 P.M.
