Peggy Jean Parris Mason

October 16, 1940 – February 2, 2023

Peggy Jean Parris Mason, 82, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023.  She was the devoted wife of Larry Allen Mason for 58 years.

Born October 16, 1940 in Bluefield, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Mildred Parris. She is also preceded in death by her sisters:  Pat Parris Mason, Carol Jane Parris and her brother David Parris.
She is survived by her sister Hattie Parris Bishop and her children Barry Allen Mason and wife, Kimberly, Brian Clay Mason and wife, Tammy; grandchildren: Bayard, Anne Hayes, Parker and Peyton Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews.  The family would like to offer a special thanks to her dear friend, Rachel Lotts and longtime "BFF" Judy Slemp Yost.

Peggy began her career in banking at Flat Top Bank in Bluefield and built her career over 40 years at various banking institutions.   She retired from Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group where she was instrumental in forming the compliance department.  She was a devout Christian and her life was a shining example of how Jesus Christ wanted us to live.  She touched so many lives in so many ways, her kindness will be missed by many.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Virginia at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Mark Asbury. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00-2:00pm. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Virginia.
