PATSY MAE LAWSON

Our sweet mother, Patsy Lawson passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Lakeland, Florida. She was 97 years old. She was born on March 21, 1927 in Pocahontas, Va. and was the daughter of the late John P. and Lotus L. Reed. Prior to retirement, she worked at various doctor offices and at the Mercer County Health Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lawson, Jr.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church prior to moving to Lakeland, Florida in 2010.

She loved sewing, oil painting, her dog, square dancing and being with family.  She loved taking walks pushing a doll carriage with her dog in the carriage.  She always said that walking is what kept her alive for so long.

She is survived by her sister Nell Bibb of Goldsboro, NC; son, Michael Lawson (Sharon) of Hebron KY; daughters, Sharon Morris (Frank) and Tamela Belk of Lakeland, FL. She also has six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

The funeral will be Saturday, March 22 at 2 pm at Dudley Memorial Chapel and burial at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
