PATRICIA ANN VANOVER DOUGHTY
Patricia Ann Vanover Doughty, our precious mother, who affectionately called herself "fat and sassy", passed away peacefully Friday, July 17, 2026 at Glenwood Park Retirement Village, Princeton, WV. Born in Erwin, TN, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Arnol Vanover, Sr and Ella Mae Renfro Vanover. At the age of 9, her family relocated to Elkhorn City, KY, where she graduated in 1969. She also attended Morehead University. In October 1970, she married Michael Doughty and together they built a family. Above all, Mom was the anchor of our family. She will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, her giving heart and the ability to make people laugh. Her family was her pride and joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Doughty; siblings: Clifton Arnol Vanover, Jr, Connie Ratliff, Theresa McDaniel and Cynthia Hawkins; granddaughter: Charity Rae Carbaugh.
Her legacy will live on through her brother Philip Vanover (Barbara) of Elkhorn City, KY, her children: Clinton Michael Doughty, Chris Doughty (Christina) and Beth Carbaugh (Barry); her grandchildren: Autumnfire Alexopoulos (Jon), Austin Doughty (Courtney), Adam Carbaugh, Elijah Doughty and Kameron Doughty; her only great-grandson: Brycen Carbaugh; several nieces and nephews, special friends: Sonny, Mallory, Mary and Tammy. The family would like to Thank the nurses and staff of Glenwood Park Retirement Village for taking such good care of her.
A service to celebrate Pat's life will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Pastors Tim Carbaugh and Richard Carbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA. Her family will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening, July 20, 2026 at Dudley Memorial from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
