Obituary

Norman Randolph Calfee, 76, of Bluefield, Virginia, passed away at home on September 4, 2025 of natural causes. He was the son of the late Ferrell Calfee and Mildred Tolbert. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Sharon Calfee.

Norman served his country boldly in the United States Marine Corps. He completed two tours in the Vietnam War as an infantry squad leader and flamethrower operator. His role of flamethrower operator had an impact in leaving a lasting impression on combat history often highlighting the extreme personal bravery required to use such a weapon in close-quarters combat. Norman was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and was a Purple Heart recipient after being wounded in combat. Norman was a fierce leader and loved his family even fiercer. His friendships were a source of strength, as well as his faith as a born again believer in Jesus Christ. Norman would do anything for his family and friends. He had a smile that warmed the hearts of all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Norman's memory are his brother, Wayne Calfee, and sister, Charlotte Calfee Cox. Daughters, Michelle Campbell of Bluefield, VA, Kim Brooks of Bluefield, WV, and son, Preston Calfee of Bluefield, VA. Norman has five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Norman was predeceased by his brothers, Ronnie Calfee, Larry Calfee, and sister, Barbara Calfee Zepp.

Friends may visit family Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 12 pm at Dudley Mortuary, Bluefield, VA followed by a military burial at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA, at 1 PM, Pallbearers are Kim Brooks, Preston Calfee, Brittany DiDonato, Cortney DiDonato, Josh Calfee, and Sean Overton. Please join his family to celebrate Norman's life.
