N.E. "DAVE" GOODMAN
N.E. "Dave" Goodman, 86 of Bluefield, VA, formerly of Falls Mills, VA, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Westwood Nursing Center. Born in Smythe County, Va. he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Smothers Goodman. He was the owner/operator of Goodman's Garage. Dave was a member of the Falls Mills United Methodist Church and he and his wife enjoyed bowling and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Irene Staton Goodman; brothers: Bunk, A.F., Alton, Eddie, Jack, John (Bob), and Bill; sisters: Beth Meadows and Helen Albert.
He will be lovingly and affectionately remembered by his daughter, Connie Sarver and husband, Larry of Falls Mills, VA; son: Harold "Jr" Peery and wife, Dorothy of Falls Mills, VA; sisters: Ruth Nicewonder of Bluefield, WV, Janie Woody and husband, Kenneth of Bluefield, WV, Shirley Catron of Cedar Bluff, VA; grandchildren: Darryl Sarver and wife, Kim of Claytor Lake, David Sarver and wife, Cheryl of Bluefield, VA, Dennis Sarver and wife, Jodi of Winston-Salem, NC, Robert Peery of Wheeling, WV and Tabitha Peery Anders and husband, Tim of Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Cole, Cameron, Matthew, Jesse and Olivia Sarver, Tristan Peery, Landrey and Laythan Anders; numerous nieces and nephews. Loving and caring staff of Westwood Nursing Home.
A service to celebrate Dave's life will be held Saturday, January, 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken Sprinkle and Rev Ted Anders officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, WV. Grandsons and great-grandsons and Lang Hurley will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family Friday, January 8, 2016 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 p.m.
