NANCY OMAR TRENTON

Nancy Omar Trenton, 98 of Bluefield, VA, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, August 21, 2019, with her caregivers by her side. She was born in Bluefield, WV and was the only child of the late Evans E. and Clara Jean Pile Omar. Mrs. Trenton graduated from Graham High School and Duke University with a degree in education. She remained a Duke University fan until her death. Mrs. Trenton was a well-known teacher at Graham Middle and Graham High School. She will be remembered by a multitude of former students who have many fond memories of her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught a Sunday school class. She was also instrumental in the formation of the Martha Circle. Mrs. Trenton came up with the name "Martha Circle" as Martha in the Bible was a hard worker. She also was a member of the Virginia Garden Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Paul Trenton; children: Robert E. Trenton and Donna Jean Trenton Moreland.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Anna Jean Colley, Bonnie Jean New (David), Taylor Moreland and Amanda all of Tennessee; 7 great-grandchildren; first cousins: George W. Pyle, Anne P. Ivey and Jean P. Miller; special caregiver: Patricia Workman and other caregivers: Leta Jones, Ann Choate, Stephanie Thompson and Donna Compton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 12:00 noon at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jay Ferguson, Rev. Ray Amos and Dr. Don Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 24 th at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
