MELISSA ANN LESTER

Melissa Ann Lester, 53 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020. She was a 1984 graduate of Graham High School, a cheerleader and was a member of the band. She enjoyed flower gardening and going to concerts and public events. Melissa loved spending time with her family and baking bread and cookies for them and others. She was a former member of Wrights Valley United Methodist Church and was a dedicated professional to her occupation. She was preceded in death by her mother: Nona D. Brewer Thompson; sister: Diana Thompson; grandmother: Anna Belle Poe; step-grandfather: Ernest Poe.

She will be lovingly and affectionately missed by her daughter: Allison Lester and her significant other, Jeremy Rash both of Bluefield, VA; her special friend and longtime companion: Paul Sutphin of Bluefield, WV; special "fur-baby": Bella.

A service to celebrate Melissa's life will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. Burial will be private and for family only.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tazewell County Animal Shelter.
