MARY BELLE NEEL STOWERS

Mary Belle Neel Stowers, 94 of Bluefield, WV, and formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022.  Born in Bluefield, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Newton and Lena Marie Bennett Neel.  Mary was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was an avid quilter.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Elmer Stowers; son: James Richard Stowers; siblings: Eddie Neel Fred Neel Georgia Durham and Edith Blankenship; half-siblings; Forest Neel, Larue Fox, Gladys Gregory, Virginia Yost, Raborn Neel, Addie Lawson and William Neel, Jr.

Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her only daughter: Barbara Jean French and husband, Kenny of N. Tazewell, VA; 4 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friend: Connie Kitts of Bluefield, VA; special friends at Mercer Nursing Rehab, where she lived the past 3 years: Becky Dillon and Lisa Lawson.

A service to celebrate Mary's life will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Johnny Blessing officiating.  The family will observe a private family burial.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
