MARY LOU HALE

Following a long battle with heart disease, Mary Lou Hale, 66 of Bluefield, VA left this world Friday, March 1, 2019, holding her daughter's hand to join her Heavenly Father and was greeted by her earthly father, McGinnis "Pig" Hale. Born in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of Gertrude Dixon Hale of Bluefield, VA and the late McGinnis "Pig" Hale. She had been a CNA earlier in her life and as a caregiver, she had taken care of many elderly in her community. She was known for her love of cooking and her famous "chicken dumplings". In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister: Lady Bird Hale and her maternal grandmother: Minnie Dixon paternal grandparents: Clarence and Louisa Carbaugh Hale.

She will be lovingly and affectionately missed by her mother: Gertrude Hale of Bluefield, VA; her daughters: Missy Mitchem Wilson of Bluefield, VA and Buffy Lynn Jones and husband, Mark of Brushfork, WV; siblings: Michael Hale and wife, Karen of Falls Mills, VA, McGinnis "Mac" Hale, Jr and wife Kimberly of Hale's Bottom, VA, Carolyn Varney of Forest Hills, KY and Lydia Roberts and husband, Keith of Hale's Bottom, VA; grandchildren: Austin Trey Phipps, Savannah Grace Phipps, Sydney Hope Phipps and Hannah Rae Jones.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary Lou's life will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Minister Frank Watkins officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
