MARY ANN MILLER BLANKENSHIP
Mary Ann Miller Blankenship, 77 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Mary Ann was born in Bland County, VA and was the daughter of the late Robert and Edith Caldwell Miller and step father, Paul Tumblin. Mary Ann was a graduate of McClain's National Business College and worked at Paper Supply/Janpak, retiring after 36 years of service. She was an active member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church, where she loved serving God, family and the community. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, planting flowers and canning. In addition to her parents and step father, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 54 years, Lewis Blankenship, Sr; sisters: Virginia Dillon, Martha Tumblin and Sallie Tumblin; brother: Thurman Miller.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son: Alfred Blankenship, Jr and wife, Stephanie of Pulaski, VA; daughters: Beth Ann Blanton and husband, Derrell of Polkville, NC and Amy Blankenship and significant other, Kevin Norris of Knoxville, TN; brother: Quinlan Tumblin and wife Cheryl of Enoree, SC; sister: Alice Clayton and husband, Tim of Hickory Tavern, SC; grandchildren: Alfred Blankenship III, Kassandra McDaniel and husband, Trampus, Amanda Hopper and husband, Casey and Marcus Blanton; 2 great-grandchildren expected.
A service to celebrate Mary Ann's life will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev Larry Ramey and Rev Charles Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Bland, VA at 3:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Michael Tumblin, Rob Dillon, Darrell Havens, Greg Havens, Todd Havens, Casey Hopper, Marcus Blanton and Alfred Blankenship III.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Virginia United Methodist Church, Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, VA 24605 or to Shiloh Cemetery Fund, Bland, VA.
