MAE PAULINE HARDY

Mae "Pauline" Hardy of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December06, 2024.  Born in Pocahontas, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Akers and Edna Elizabeth Davis Akers.  Pauline was a member of Bailey Switch United Methodist Church for many years.  She worked at Bluefield College for most of her working career.  When she was able, she enjoyed daily trips to Bluefield Hardees for her morning biscuits and coffee with friends. She enjoyed just being home working her puzzle books and watching Days of our Lives. Her world was made more enjoyable by her feline fur babies, Leroy and Jake.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Joseph W. Akers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her one son: Ron Smith and wife, Teresa of Pembroke, VA; her two daughters: Rita Smith of Sevierville, TN and Sharon Thompson and husband, Larry of North Carolina; her sister: Hazel Williams and husband, Randy of Bluefield, VA; sister-in-law: Pat Akers of Bluefield, VA; special great-granddaughter: Nicole Vanover and husband, Jonathan of Bluefield, VA and their son, Greysin Lee; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; special friend: Julie Shrader of Falls Mills, VA.

A service to celebrate Pauline's life will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Steve Aker and Rev. Daniel Ingram officiating.  Her body will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in a private setting.
