LOUISE L. DANGERFIELD

Louise L. Dangerfield, 95 of Bluefield, WV, died Saturday, June 8, 2019. Born August 28, 1923 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late O. John and Maggie Fisher Lambert.

Mrs. Dangerfield was a lifelong resident of Bluefield, with the exception of her time spent in Elkton, Maryland serving her country during WWII working for Triumph Explosives. She retired from the Mercer County Board of Education after 25 years of service. She was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School to the 3-4 year old class. She was a volunteer at Bluefield Regional Hospital for 15 years. She was a former member of the Friday Bowling League at the Mountaineer Bowling Lanes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: Norman E. Dangerfield; a grandson: Micah B. Sword; 2 sisters: Ruth E. Morgan and Helen C. Miller; 4 brothers: Edward, Bill, Fred and Michael Lambert.

Survivors include 1 brother: R. Wayne Lambert of Princeton, WV; 3 daughters: Sharon D. Thomas and husband, Joe of Dover Delaware, Sandra D. Thompson and husband, Harry of Bluefield, VA and Sherrie Jenkins and husband, Frank of Winchester, VA.

Six grandchildren: Windsor A. Nevitt of Roanoke, VA, SGT Maj. Stuart N. Sword and wife, Anna of Weiden, Germany, Dr. Whitney T. Delaney and husband, Dr. Keegan Delaney of Great Falls, VA, Morgan T. Metke and husband, Lt. Col. Patrick Metke of Southern Pines, NC, Cody Jenkins of Winchester, VA and Jacqueline B. Satterfield and husband, Brian of Chattanooga, TN.

Fourteen great-grandchildren: Brittanie A. Nevitt of Moneta, VA, Stuart, Arianna and Madeline Sword of Weiden, Germany, Declan and Clara Delaney of Great Falls, VA, Rhys, Thayer and Nash Metke of Southern Pines, NC, Hayley, Chole, Dublin and Haven Satterfield of Chattanooga, TN and Gavin C. Sword of Roanoke, VA, son of the late Micah B. Sword.

In keeping with her wishes, a private graveside service was held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bland Ministry Center, P.O. Box 211, Bland, VA 24315
