LOIS SPENCE COLLINS
Lois was the cherished daughter of Johnny and Clara Spence, both of whom preceded her in joining the Lord's embrace, as did her beloved brother Elmer Spence, her dear son Dale Collins, her brother-in-law, Jerry Callebs, and the love of her life, Oscar Mullins. Her legacy lives on through her devoted family including sisters, Mayme Collins her husband Dillard, and Elsie Callebs, who will miss her dearly.
Lois was a matriarch in her own right, a loving mother to her children Debbie Lake and husband Sam, Dwayne Collins and wife Bonnie, and Tammy R. Collins. Her life was further enriched by her grandchildren, Rebecca Cline, Derek Cline, Jeremy Collins and his wife Jessica, Jacob Lake and his wife Beth, USAF Staff Sergeant Sean Lake and his wife Kiley, Matthew Collins and his wife Jessica, and Dr. Adam Christian and his wife Lindsay. The joy of her later years was multiplied by her great-grandchildren, Kaylea, Stella, Noah, Ava, Jace, and Reece, who all knew the warmth of her affection.
Lois last attended the Life Changes Christian Center in Wytheville, Virginia. Her faith was as unshakeable as the mountains of her birthplace, and her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. Lois was a faith-filled woman, whose unwavering trust in God was a testament to her belief in His plan. She was so loving, gave a smile to every stranger, always extended a hand to those in need, and her kindness was as boundless as the sky above.
In her earthly journey, Lois exemplified the fruits of the Spirit. Her gentle manner, her patience in tribulation, and her joy in service were the hallmarks of her existence. She was a woman of Proverbs, personifying the strength and dignity spoken of in the scriptures, and her laughter was indeed a reflection of her fearlessness in the face of the future.
As we bid farewell to Lois, let us not sorrow as those without hope, for we know that she is now rejoicing in the presence of our Savior. We are comforted by the knowledge that she has found peace in the arms of the Almighty, and we celebrate the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
May the Lord bless her memory among us, and may we strive to carry forward the light of Christ that she so brilliantly reflected. Amen.
A service to celebrate Lois life will be held Tuesday April 1st at 12:30 PM, With pastor's Todd and Tammy Porter officiating, family and friends may visit from 12:00 till the hour of service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
