LLOYD CONLEY HOLBROOK
Lloyd Conley Holbrook 90 of Bluefield VA died peacefully on March 9, 2020. He is now at home with his Heavenly Father. A Godly man, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His faith is now 20/20 vision with both eyes. He was born October 18, 1929 in Newhall, WV.
He served the Lord at Landmark First Church of God in Princeton. He was saved at age 12. He worked for 40 years at Flat Top National Bank (First Community). He graduated from Big Creek High School and WV Business College and attended WV Banking School. Lloyd, known as Conn to many, retained his sense of humor, rosy disposition, thirst for learning new things, and stayed young at heart his entire life. His body finally slowed the past couple of years but he enjoyed playing ball, throwing frisbee, and playing disc golf with his kids and grandkids well into his eighties. Lloyd never met a stranger and was loved by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Damon Edward and Floye Isaacs Holbrook, brothers, Edward (Louise) Holbrook, Merrill (Phyllis) Holbrook, and Dean Holbrook.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Meda Dye Holbrook, and children, Judy (Richard Marlin) Howell, David (Mary) Holbrook, Martin (Dee Deskins) Holbrook, and Susan (Scott) Hodge, grandchildren Michael (Tamara) Holbrook, Jennifer (Craig) Barton, Shawn Howell (fiancée Elizabeth Decker), Kimberly (David) DePena, Isaac and Zoe Hodge, great grandchildren Tristan Michael Holbrook and Lucy Barton.
Services will be held Thursday March 12 th at 7:00pm with visitation one hour prior to service with Pastor Scott Hodge officiating at Dudley Memorial Mortuary, 729 Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, VA 24605. Interment will be Friday March 13 th at 11:00 AM at Grandview Memory Gardens Chapel.
