LILLIAN JOSEPHINE TURPIN
Lillian Josephine Turpin, 93 of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 24, 2016. Born in Mercer County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert F and Julia Stevens Lambert. She was a member of the Church of God in Bluefield, VA. She loved her family dearly. Roses and violets were her favorite flowers and she enjoyed reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Turpin, Sr. and 3 brothers.
She will always be lovingly remembered by her children: Harold Lee "Sonny" Turpin, Jr and wife, Brenda of North Tazewell, VA, Marcus F Turpin and wife, Nancy of Bluefield, VA and Marcia Fuller and husband, Dave of North Tazewell, VA; brother: Russell Lambert and wife, Barbara of California; grandchildren: Michael Turpin and companion, Melissa Martin of Bluefield, VA, Jessica Fisher and husband, Aaron of Bluefield, VA and Derrick Fuller of North Tazewell; great-grandchildren: Brandon Turpin and another expected in February; 7 great great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, staff and residents at Westwood Nursing Home for the compassion, concern and care that was given to Mrs. Turpin over the years.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Turpin's life will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev Tony Ellis officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memory Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Michael Turpin, Derrick Fuller, Aaron Fisher, Dennis Elswick, Billy Fuller and Kelvin Matney.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 p.m.
