LENA ELIZABETH YOST WINFREY
Lena Elizabeth Yost Winfrey, age 82 of Bluefield VA , left the frailty of her earthly body to join her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2015. She now rejoices in Heaven with Jesus and her husband Charles. She was born June 2, 1933 in Tazwell, VA and resided in Bluefield, VA for 81 years. She was the daughter of Bascom S. Yost and Elizabeth Marie Lawson Yost, both of Tazwell, VA. She was preceded by husband, Charles Perry Winfrey, Athens, West Virginia. She was a graduate of Graham High School, Class of 1952, and a member of Graham Presbyterian Church, Bluefield, VA.
Lena is survived by sister, Clara Marie Yost Kitts (husband Herbert Kitts of Altamonte Springs, FL, nephews, Tim Kitts and Leon Kitts), brother, George Henry "Johnny" Yost (wife Dawneda Mullins Yost, nephews Joey Yost, George Yost and niece Loucenda Yost), children Charles Douglas Winfrey (wife Faye Winfrey, grandchildren Chanelle Morton, Summer Warren, Heather Rodriguez, Zachary Winfrey, Caleb Winfrey and Judah Winfrey) and daughters Annette Lena Winfrey Sader (grandchildren Aziz, Mohammed, Omar and Lujain) and Mary Katherine Winfrey Barnes (grandson William Paul Barnes); twelve great grandchildren; sister In-law Alice Brookman and brother In-law Herbert White; thirteen great nieces and nephews.
Lena never drove a day in her life, but managed to touch the lives of people across the world. Many will miss her cooking and kind words. Family and friends were her greatest treasures.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday October 10 2015 at 1:00 PM at Graham Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Lively officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until hour of service. Dudley Memorial is serving the Winfrey family.
