KERRY JEAN WORTHINGTON

Kerry Jean Worthington, 47 of Matoaka, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025.  Born in Marion, OH, she was the daughter of the late McKinley Eugene Worthington and Gail June Parsons Worthington.  Kerry was a devoted mother and was loved by many.  Her life was marked by her caring spirit, her steadfast love for her children and grandchildren and her willingness to support others in their time of need. Kerry's presence was a source of comfort and stability for those around her.  She treasured family moments, changes of seasons, going to bingo, the mountains and the simple joys of life in Matoaka.  She enjoyed going to church.  She will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her warmth, her commitment to her family and the kindness she offered so freely.

She is survived by her children: Sieara Weese Grose and David Weese; grandchildren: Kahlan Velazquez and Luca Grose; husband: David Weese; twin brother: Terry Worthington; brother: Chris Parsons and wife, Stacey; sisters: Kelly Huggins and husband, Terry and Misty Artressia and husband, Chuck; numerous nieces and nephews: Raymond Worthington, Brittany Payne, Jennifer Payne, Heaven Payne, Chris Payne, Michael Worthington, Starla Artressia, Donnagail Artressia, Paige Monroe, Savannah Jett, Summer Parsons, Sheldon Parsons, and Brandon Thompson; many great nieces and great nephews who will carry forward her memory in their lives; an extended family and friends whose lives she touched.

A service to celebrate Kerry's life will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Hiawatha Gospel Mission, State Hwy 10, Lashmeet, WV 24733.  Burial will follow at a family cemetery on Arista Mountain, 1321 Egeria Road, Matoaka, WV 24736. Pallbearers will be Chris Parsons, David Grose, David Weese, Raymond Worthington, Sieara Grose and Adeline White.

Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request, that donations be made to: Dudley Memorial, 729 Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, VA 24605, 276-326-1141 to help with the funeral expenses.
