KENNETH CLYDE ROLAND
Kenneth Clyde Roland, 87 of Bluefield, WV, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024. Born in Ada, WV, he was the son of the late Edgar Lee and Lucinda Rose Roland. Kenneth attended Sandlick Baptist Church. He was the last born of numerous siblings and the last surviving member of his immediate family. For over 50 years he had worked as an auto mechanic, owning and operating his own garage, Roland's Garage, during some of those years. He enjoyed working with wood and was an avid Bluefield Beaver and West Virginia Mountaineer football fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years: Marjorie Ann Ruble Roland; his siblings: Albert Roland, Edgar Roland, Jessee Rose, Marie Roland, Agnes Wimmer, Ruth Anderson, Lucy Allen and Lettie Neal.
He will be lovingly and affectionately missed by his children: Kendra Brewster and husband, Michael of Rural Retreat, VA and Clayton Wayne Roland of Bluefield, WV; his much favored granddaughter: Kiara Brewster of Rural Retreat, VA; grandchildren: Summer Dorsett and husband, Russell of Wytheville, VA and Tyler Brewster of Rural Retreat, VA; his beloved feline fur baby: "Skutter-butt"; a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Kenneth's life will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Eddie Mabe officiating.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
Kenneth will be taken to his final resting place on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mark Neal, Derek Neal, Brandon Neal, Tyler Brewster, Mike French and Gary Worley. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Grandview Memory Mausoleum Chapel on Monday morning by 10:45 A/M.
The family would like to thank the members of the Bluefield West Virginia Rescue Squad and the nurses and staff at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital Bluefield Campus for their professionalism, care and concern.
