Karen Rene Wasilewski, age 52 of Tazewell, VA, passed away peacefully in her home, Friday, April 7, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of Norma and the late Marvin Walker of Bluefield, VA. and leaves behind her loving husband of 32 years, Tom Wasilewski of Tazewell, VA and their two children who she adored, Zakery Wasilewski and Karlee Wasilewski also of Tazewell, VA.  She also leaves behind their fiancés Jaclyn Compton of Tazewell, VA and Logan Surface of Bluefield, VA. She also leaves behind a grand-dog, Birdie Lee, who will miss her dearly.

Karen had an outgoing personality full of love a generosity for those around her.  She worked most of her career as a registered nurse at Bluefield Regional Medical Center (Emergency Room Department) where she extended compassionate care to all her patients and finished her career in kidney dialysis within the two Virginias.  In her free time, she loved watching any and every detective show she could find from CSI to Blue Bloods. Karen enjoyed being surrounded by family, helping others and most of all she loved watching her kids play sports.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Eddie Caldwell of Trinity, NC along with her nephews Hayden and Greyson Caldwell also of Trinity, her mother-in law of War, WV, Margaret Wasilewski, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bernie and Mary Spencer also of War, WV., her nieces, Anne-Marie Spencer and Carrie VanDyke.  Karen also had very special uncles and aunts that loved her:  Orrin Walker of Bluefield, VA, Jimmy and Freda Stevenson of Bristol, TN and Betty Perdue of Ohio.  She also had many cousins who loved her and will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Monday, April 10, 2023 at Dudley Memorial Funeral Home in Bluefield, VA where a service to celebrate Karen's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM with Pastor Steve Branch officiating.  Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Tom Wasilewski, Zakery Wasilewski, Logan Surface, Eddie Caldwell, Hayden Caldwell, Bernie Spencer and Greyson Caldwell will serve as pallbearers.
