JUDICE "JUDY" LAYNE HICKS

Judice "Judy" Layne Hicks, 78 of North Tazewell, VA, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, October 5, 2021.  Born in Tazewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Bowen and Pansy Proffitt.  Judy loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Tip Top United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was a sweet, caring, loving Mother and friend and a wonderful cook.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Maynard Hicks and their son: Kevin Christopher Hicks.

She will be lovingly missed by her sons: Carl Maynard Hicks and his domestic partner, Matt Minrath of Roanoke, VA and Mark Bowen Hicks of N. Tazewell, VA; many friends who were like family to her.

A service to celebrate Judy's life will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jim Horn officiating.  Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday at Dudley Memorial from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.

The family respectfully asks those wishing to attend the service to wear face masks and observe social distancing for your safety and the safety of others.
