JUANITA RUBLE MARRS
Juanita Ruble Marrs, 86 of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Born in Bluefield, VA, she was the daughter of the late C.M. and Faytola French Ruble. She had been a secretary in the Tazewell County School System for over 30 years. After retirement, she began the Dudley Elementary Applebutter Walk. Juanita was a long time faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, having served on many of the committees within the church and currently was serving as Chairman of the Administrative Council. She loved the Lord and her church and its ministries. The county fair, gardening and cooking were among some of her favorite things to do. She was loved by all and will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only sibling: Patsy Summers.
She will be lovingly and affectionately missed by her husband of 65 years: Bill Marrs of Bluefield, VA; her sons: Doug Marrs and wife, Connie of Reidsville, NC, Rick Marrs and wife, Karen of Bluefield, VA and Chuck Marrs and wife, Allison of Fayetteville, NC; her grandchildren: Majer Elswick and wife, Amber, Chase Elswick and wife, Kathleen, Drew Marrs and wife, Stephanie, T.J. Marrs and fiancée, Jossie Huston, Sarah Marrs, Alex Marrs and wife, Ariel, David Marrs; 4 great-grandchildren; Colin Elswick, who was like a grandson to her and his wife, Jessica.
A service to celebrate Ms. Juanita's life will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Aker and Rev. Ray Amos officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Majer Elswick, Chase Elswick, Drew Marrs, T.J. Marrs, Alex Marrs and David Marrs will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening, November 21, 2019 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief); 810 12 th Avenue South; Nashville, TN 37203 or to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Gov. G.C. Peery Highway, Bluefield, VA 24605.
