JOYCE RUBLE SARVER
Joyce Ruble Sarver, 73, of Bluefield, VA, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 22, 2016. She resided in Bluefield, VA, with her daughter, Karen at the time of her passing. Born August 11, 1943, Joyce was the daughter of the late Garrell and Goldie Marrs Ruble. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth E. "Kenny" Ruble and Robert M. "Bob" Ruble.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, daughter: Karen Smith of Bluefield, VA and son: Rick Sarver and wife, Liz of Fall Mills, VA; sister: Lila Barker and husband, Clyde of Auburn, GA; 5 grandchildren: Justin Goins, Tosha Smith, Jacob Coleman, Ricky and Randy Sarver; 4 great-grandchildren: Dakota, Elissia, Blake and Krimson.
Joyce was a lifelong native of Bluefield, VA. She graduated from Graham High School in 1961. She also attended National Business College. Joyce was an organizer of her graduating class' reunions as well. She was a secretary at Grandview Memory Gardens for 31 years, retiring in 2006. She was a former member of Secretaries International Bluefield chapter and was Secretary of the year in 1984.
Joyce was an active member in Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Bluefield, VA, serving on the Board of Trustees, PPR, Finance, Nominations and the Audit Committee, also a former secretary of the United Methodist Women and a teacher in children's church. Joyce was active within her community, volunteering her time with the Salvation Army and Tazewell County Community Action. Joyce was also a member of Quota Club, Civic Club, Senior Friends and The Red Hats Society.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eddie Day and Rev. Barry Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rick Sarver, Justin Goins, Jacob Coleman, Dakota Kincaid, Bill Marrs, Byron Green and Frankie Berry.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Dudley Memorial from 6-8 p.m.
