JOSEPH DANIEL ATWELL
Joseph Daniel Atwell, 83 of Winston-Salem, NC, died at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC, on Friday, April 15, 2017. Born in Anawalt, WV on April 18, 1933, he was the son of the late William R Atwell and Maggie Bowman Atwell Boggess. He was a member of the Pinedale Church of Christ in Winston-Salem, NC. He was retired from Roadway after 30 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Vivian Patrick Atwell and his brother, William R Atwell, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son: Joseph Daniel Atwell II and wife, Kathy; sisters: Elviria Spangler and Peggy Ferrell; grandchildren: Jennifer Miller and husband, Brandon and Amanda Jackson; great-grandson: Walker Miller; a host of nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with his brother-in-law, Ernest Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens with nephews and family friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
