John Dailey Thompson, 79, of Springville, Virginia, passed away at home on March 29, 2022.  He was the son of the late Franklin West and Beulah Mae Dailey Thompson. His siblings, Franklin MacDonald Thompson and Naomi Wilson Nicely also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son John Dailey Thompson II, his wife Jessica and their sons John Andrew and Benjamin.  Additionally, he was a loving, proud Dad to Commander Ralph Stephens, United States Navy, helping raise him from adolescence.  Commander Stephens' family includes sons Brad and Garrett.

He is also survived by his sister Elsie, who resides in Washington.

Mr. Thompson loved fishing and hunting, leaving his sons many pleasant memories of those days spent with him.  He was proud to have been a West Graham boy, graduating from Graham High School and Nashville Auto Diesel School.  He was of the Baptist faith.

A service to celebrate John's life will be held Sunday, April 03, 2022 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Craig Hammond officiating.  Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Honorary pallbearers will be the West Graham Boys.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. noon until the hour of the service.
