JASON DARRELL SUMMERS

Jason Darrell Summers, 40 of Bluefield, VA, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, after a brief, yet courageous, battle with cancer. Born December 10, 1977, Jason was the son of John Kenneth Summers of FL, and the late Helen Delores Odell Summers.

Left to cherish his memory, along with his father, Kenneth and step-mother, June Summers, are his best friend of seven years and wife, Brenda Carol Summers; sisters: Heather Fox and Chris of Atkins, VA, Stacey Calladine and Roger of Atkins, VA, Becky Poynter of Daytona Beach, FL, Pam Sawyers and Alan of Boissevain, VA, Cynthia Smith and Mark of Kingsport, TN; nephews: Noah Summers and Craven Fox of Atkins, VA; nieces: Connor Calladine, KaLee Summers and Rhiannon Fox of Atkins, VA; "brothers:" Robert Meredith of Bristol, TN, John Wilburn of Christiansburg, VA, Ben Farmer of Bluefield, WV and Justin Hamm of Bluefield, WV; uncles: Dwain Odell and Joan of Shreveport, LA and L.E. Puckett of Abingdon, VA; aunts: Janie Odell of Bluefield, VA, Linda Ellison of North Tazewell, VA and Joan Meredith of Bristol, TN; numerous cousins and friends.

In addition to his mother, Delores, Jason was preceded in death by his biological mother: Elenor Odell; grandparents: John and Anna Belle "Mam-Maw" Summers and Harold "Smokey" and Ethel "Granny" Odell; uncles: R.H. "Smokey" Odell Jr, Gary Odell, Gerald Odell, Irvin "Pud" Odell, Randall Odell, Ronald Summers, Tom Summers and Lawrence Tiller; aunts: Norma Odell, Mary Puckett, Elayne Tiller and Patsy Summers; cousins: R.H. "Richard" Odell III, Sheryl Tabor, Vicky Odell, Bill Summers and Colleen Tiller; a dear friend: Doreen Hicks.

In keeping with Jason's wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of Jason's life will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Bluefield, VA with Rev. Steve Aker officiating.
