JAMES JACKSON WORSHAM III

James Jackson Worsham III, 81 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024.  Born in Anniston, AL, he was the son of the late James Jackson Worsham II and Rena Davis Worsham.  He served his country in the United States Army.  Jim spent many afternoons at the rifle range with his friends at Mercer County Honor Guard and participated in many Honor Guard services for veterans. He was a member of Midway Christian Church and enjoyed being with his church family and serving at the church.  He taught over 20 years in higher education, including Bluefield State and Bluefield College.  Above all, Jim enjoyed being with his family, especially his children and grandchildren and their families.

He will be lovingly and affectionately missed by his wife of 40 years: Patricia "Pat" Hill Currie Worsham; his children: Michael Worsham and wife, Jenna of Morrisville, NC, Greg Jones of Gate City, NC and Kimberly Kalstrom of Roanoke, VA; brothers: Ken Worsham of Nashville, TN and Chris Worsham and wife, Sharon of New Mexico; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Midway Christian Church at 11:00 A.M. with Minister Dan Webb officiating.  Mercer County Honor Guard will conduct military last rites.
