JAMES DWIGHT PROFFITT

James Dwight Proffitt, 50 of Falls Mills, VA, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018. Born in Bluefield, WV he was the son of the late James Ralph and Hazel Mae Nipper Proffitt.  He loved hunting and fishing, slushies and turkey legs.  He was the founder and coach of the Little League Football Team, "Little G's".  He loved his family and also his job.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisiter: Kathy Jane Gremore and brother-in-law: Danny Abel II.

He will be lovingly and affectionately missed by his high school sweetheart and wife of 25 years, Tammy Hartley Proffitt; his children: James Dwight Proffitt, Jr (Tory Hall), Christopher Shane Proffitt (Haley Holloway), Cody Alan Proffitt (Emily Lewis), Amber Nicole Sayers (Cody) all of Falls Mills, VA; siblings: Tony Proffitt (Christina) and Melissa Abel all of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren: Brantley James Proffitt, Olivia Rachael Proffitt and Taelyn Mae Blankenship.

A service to celebrate James' life will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev Danny Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery with his co-workers from Joy serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at Dudley Memorial.
