JAMES SYDNEY ELLISON

James Sidney Ellison, 92 of Bluefield, VA passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 after a long illness. Born in Sophia, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph and Annie Ellison. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, WV, and also from National Business College, Roanoke, VA with a degree in Accounting. He had lived in Bluefield, VA since 1957. He had served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959, had worked for Bluefield Supply Company and Skyland Hospital Supply and was active on the Bluefield Virginia Zoning Board. Sid was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bluefield, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Alice Mae Ratcliff Ellison; his sisters: Gloria (Swans) McAdoo and JoAnn Ellison.

He is survived by his son: James Barry Ellison and wife, Kathleen of Bernardsville, NJ.

A service to celebrate Sid's life will be held at a later date.
